Welcome to one of the most exclusive Bow Hunting Lodges in South Africa
For more than 20 years, Melorani has been a bow hunt-only destination. Set in spectacular scenery, the privately owned and run reserve lies in the fertile valley between the Enselsberg and Dwarsberg hills, just three hours drive north west of Johannesburg. On arrival, you’ll know you’ve arrived in Africa. The authentic bushveld teems with a diversity of well-managed species at one destination resulting in consistent and outstanding trophy quality year after year. The secluded area is safe, free from malaria and hunting guests are treated with warmth and great local hospitality, making it one of the most sought after bow hunting lodges in South Africa.
The enchanting bush camp is set close to a waterhole on a rocky outcrop among large Tambotie trees. The location is captivating – for the first-time visitor this is the real world of the African bush. Five comfortable and well-equipped en-suite rondavels accommodates a maximum of 10 guests. A large open living space under thatch houses the dining area, a lounge-come-trophy room and a cozy lapa where you can relax and enjoy yourself after a successful day on the hunt.
Be at home in the bushveld
The lodge is unfenced and wild animals roam freely around the camp at night. During the day there is a waterhole in front of the camp which draws many animals. No hunting is allowed at this spot, even though it would certainly be a hotspot for many species! This is the place to appreciate the peace and tranquility of the bushveld and enjoy the intimate camaraderie of a campfire under a starry night sky. Come and visit Melorani. Experience flaming sunsets with the distant haunting call of the jackal, and wake to the fresh bushveld dawns.
